Habitat:Woodlands Diet:Herbivore: grass Reproduction:There is no fixed breeding season for chitals, but most births occur in the cool season from January to May. The gestation period is 210-225 days long. Social Structure:Chitals live in herds. Behavior:During the dry season, herds will often feed underneath trees that langur monkeys are using. The chitals feed on the foliage that is dropped by the monkeys. The two species will respond to each other's alarm calls.
